This is the second blog entry about March 17. The weather was beautiful so we elected to walk to the Lincoln Monument through Franklin Delano Roosevelt's Memorial Park. The Park is laid out in the terms FDR served. The Park itself is built of red granite. The contrast from all the white marble is really nice. I'm so glad we added this stop.
Surrounding the Lincoln Memorial are several other monuments including the Korean War Memorial, Vietnam Memorial and the Vietnam Nurses Memorial. Jennifer was able to find the names of a family member and a local veteran who lost their lives during the Vietnam Conflict.
